About Us
A long-standing name in Chennai's maritime history.
Prior to Madras (Chennai) Port beginning its maritime operation in 1872, individuals and families were already providing essential services to ships calling at the port.
In course of time, these services developed into a specialised business. On 10 April 1951, three like-minded individuals joined hands and formed the firm under the name and style of The United Stevedores.
The firm subsequently developed a reputation for expertise in cargo handling and port operations, building on generations of practical maritime knowledge.
